The policy
Kids hunt free with a paid adult.
One child hunts free with every paid adult, on every hunt we run. Same guide, same ground, same lodge. You cover their Illinois permit, we cover the hunt.
01 · Straight answer
How does kids hunt free work?
One child hunts free with every paid adult, on every hunt we run, from the $600 coyote hunt to full season access. Same guide, same ground, same lodge, no additional hunt cost.
We are not going to pretend this is charity. Hunting has a recruitment problem, the average age of a licence holder keeps climbing, and outfitters pricing a family out of the sport is part of how that happened. A guided Illinois hunt is an expensive thing. Doubling that cost to bring a twelve year old is how a twelve year old ends up not going.
So the policy is simple and it does not have an asterisk on the hunt price. What your child does still need is their own Illinois permit and whatever hunter education Illinois requires for their age. Those are state rules and we cannot waive them, but we will walk you through them.
Practically, a youth hunt here runs differently. Guides shorten sits, build in food, and take the pressure off the outcome. A kid who is cold and bored at eleven in the morning is not going to want to come back next year, and next year is the whole point.

02 · What it covers
Every hunt on the board, no exceptions.
Archery, rut, shotgun, muzzleloader, spring turkey, coyote and full season access. If it is on our price board, one child hunts free with each paid adult on it.
The lodge is included for them the same as it is for you, and they eat at the same table.

03 · Questions
Questions about bringing a kid.
Is the kids hunt free offer really free?
The guided hunt is free with every paid adult. Your child still needs their own Illinois permit and to meet Illinois hunter education requirements, because those are state rules and not ours.
How old does a child have to be?
Illinois sets the rules on youth hunting and hunter education. Call Travis at 309-337-8396 and he will tell you exactly where your child stands, or check the Illinois DNR directly.
Can more than one child come?
One child hunts free per paid adult. Two adults, two kids. Call and we will work it out.
Do kids get their own guide?
They hunt with you and your guide. On a youth hunt the guide's job shifts a little, toward making sure the child is warm, fed and having a good time first and the deer second.
